Internationally acclaimed for his rich voice and thrilling upper register, tenor David Pomeroy is enjoying a career in the spotlight on some of the world’s most important opera stages and concert halls. The Newfoundland native made his Metropolitan Opera debut in the title in Les contes d’Hoffmann followed by the title role in Faust. 2020 took him to concert stages singing opera favourites with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, Braunfel’s Te Deum in his house debut with the Orquesta Nacional de España in Madrid and Kodály’s Psalmus Hungaricus at the Oregon Music Festival. At opera houses across Canada this year, he has been heard as Don Jose in Carmen with the Manitoba Opera and Bacchus in Ariadne auf Naxos. Further credits include the Stuttgart, Cologne, Frankfurt, Seattle, Royal Danish opera, Opera Australia and the Canadian Opera Company as well as the Vancouver Symphony, the Toronto Symphony and the Warsaw Philharmonic.
