Judith Yan is a Canadian conductor, born in Hong Kong. She has been the Staff Conductor of the San Francisco Opera – where her performances of The Rake’s Progress was included in the San Francisco Chronicle’s Top Ten Classical Performances of the Year, – the Canadian Opera Company, and the National Ballet of Canada, and she is currently the Principal Conductor of Opera on the Avalon.

Equally adept at opera, ballet, and symphony, her career has taken her internationally, conducting for major companies in Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America. In the current season, her schedule included Swan Lake for the Korean National Ballet/Korean Symphony, Rigoletto for the Edmonton Opera and Sleeping Beauty for West Australian Ballet/West Australian Symphony Orchestra.

Other credits include conducting for the Polish National Ballet, the Seattle Opera, the Ulmer Oper, the Guelph Symphony Orchestra, the Hong Kong Ballet, the Elora Festival, the National Arts Centre Orchestra and the Vancouver Opera.
