Roger is thrilled to be singing the Phantom here in St. Johns for Opera on the Avalon. Last heard here as Cardinal Roche in Ours, Roger has had a very busy few years since then. Most recently Roger made his debut at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden in a new production of Boris Godunov playing opposite Bryn Terfel. Other highlights include the role of Captain Ahab in a wonderful new production of Moby Dick both in Pittsburgh and Salt Lake City. In Canada, most recent credits include Loge in Das Rhinegold for Opera de Montreal and Trajan in the Canadian Opera Company’s production of Hadrian by Rufus Wainwright and Daniel McIvor. Also know for his work in Musical theatre Mr. Honeywell won a Dora Mavor Moore award for his outstanding performance in The House of Martin Guerre by Canadian composer Leslie Arden. He was also a proud member of the Shaw Festivals acting company for five years under Christopher Newton and a spent five season as an actor at the Stratford Festival. Mr. Honeywell is a graduate of the Ryerson theatre school and the Claude Watson school for the arts in Toronto.
