Ticket Buyers Beware – Ticket Seller Warning

Ticket Buyers Beware – Ticket Seller Warning

It has come to our attention that our patrons have been affected by secondary ticket sellers who may be suspicious and fraudulent.

We want to remind our patrons that the Arts & Culture Centre are the sole seller/provider of all tickets to Opera on the Avalon’s production of The Phantom of the Opera and do not work with secondary sellers. We encourage our audiences to buy tickets, in-person at the St. John’s Arts & Culture Centre box office or online at www.artsandculturecentre.com.

If you are considering purchasing through a secondary reseller, please contact Opera on the Avalon or the St. John’s Arts & Culture Centre before you make a purchase to check the tickets are valid. We can verify information about our productions, dates, seating and price. For example, many secondary sellersʼ list prices in USD currency, and it can be deceiving to patrons. By law, secondary sellers cannot sell tickets higher than the value set by the official ticket provider.

If you have questions about protections in place to protect consumers from ticket resales or need to report a suspicious seller, please contact The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (CAFC). You can also find consumer tips for ticket sales and resales on their website.

Please remember that the only way to make a safe, risk-free purchase is to buy Phantom of the Opera tickets directly through The Arts & Culture Centre. If you have questions, please contact the Arts & Culture Centre box office at 709-729-3900, Monday – Friday, 12 pm – 6 pm.
