Young-Artists

Young Artists

The Young Artist Program here at OOTA is of a very high caliber and of a professional level. If you are just beginning graduate study or haven’t done any of the paid young artist residency programs it’s probably too early to audition for this program. Undergraduates will not be considered for this program. The Young Artist Program is best suited to singers who are currently participating in young artist residency programs or have significant professional experience. Young Artists may have the opportunity to sing principal and small roles in MainStage productions, as well as in various concerts and recitals. Full Scholarship, billet housing and a weekly stipend ranging from $250.00 to $600.00 Canadian is provided to Young Artists. Stipends will be determined based on merit and professional experience. As there is a maximum of twelve participants selected for the Young Artist Program each season, applicants who are not selected for the Young Artist Program may be selected to partake in the Studio Artist program at the discretion of the artistic staff.

Some of our past Young Artists have included Anthony Kalil, Tasha Koontz, Arnold Geis, Christiaan Smith-Kotlarek, Eliza Bonet, Claudia Rosenthal, Eric Downs, John Boehr, Katherin Tombaugh, Laura Brandt, Raymon Geis, Samantha Guevrekian, Tracy Cantin, Jeremy Blossey, Naomi Johns, Cameron McPhail, Cat Affleck, Ashley Kerr, Jorell Williams, Brittany Robinson, Eric Downs, Lara Secord-Haid, Anthony Webb and Marie Masters.
