2025/2026 Applications
What you’ll need to apply
1. Three video recordings of arias in contrasting styles and languages from the last 12 months, including one piece in English, and one contemporary aria (we recommend from 1950 onwards). Alternatives such as contemporary English-language art songs or musical theatre pieces are also acceptable. Recordings should be shared via unlisted or public YouTube/Vimeo links.
2. Completed application form (See below)
3. Application Fee: $25 CAD*
* Fee Waiver: Artists who are members of CAEA, ACTRA, AGMA, or UDA are eligible to have their application fees waived. If you are a member of the above, please send an email to michaela@operaontheavalon.com.
This program also accepts applications from artists outside of the performance discipline ie. conductors, directors, librettists, composers. If you are applying in one of these categories, please include videos that exemplify your work in your discipline of choice.
Please note that at this time, we are only able to consider submissions from individuals who hold Canadian citizenship or permanent residency in Canada. There is no age limit to apply.
Application is a two step process:

Pay application fee via Square.

We believe Emerging Artists are the future of our art form and deserve a supportive, holistic, and happy place to grow. Our hybrid program focuses on delivering professional development, 9 months of financial support, and the environment that allows you to be the best artist you can be.
We’ve designed our program to reflect the changes we want and need to see in our sector. Artists who participate will experience the rich culture of the East Coast combined with support in every aspect of growth and learning for the whole of their residency.E
