Stéphanie Gouin is a young collaborative pianist and voice coach from the South-Ontario area. She recently completed a DMA in Solo Piano in 2017, with Professor Stéphan Sylvestre. Though Dr. Gouin trained as a soloist during her university studies, she gradually pivoted toward collaboration, and in particular vocal coaching. During her doctorate, she was the main repetiteur for UWOpera’s L’Heure Espagnole and L’Enfant et les Sortilèges, and worked for the faculty as a collaborator for several vocal and diction classes. Since completing her degree, she now works as a vocal coach at Western University’s music faculty and accompanies multiple voice studios. In addition to her active coaching schedule, Dr. Gouin maintains a private piano studio, and enjoys instrumental collaboration. She plays regularly with violinist Émilie Paré from Symphony Nova Scotia, and the duo recently performed their Mozart, Medtner and Debussy program this summer in Halifax (NS) and London (ON).
